The Crisfield Watermen's Park Design project will conduct the planning and design phase for a Waterman’s Park in Crisfield, Maryland through a non-financial Chesapeake Bay Trust Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns Grant. The plan will convert the existing City-owned degraded asphalt parking lot to a pervious park area for community use.  The Crisfield Watermen's Park Design will include community input as well as practical aspects of park design. The project will result in a report detailing park planning and a proof-of-concept design that will be used to apply for engineering funds. The Watermen’s Park project will serve to reduce flooding and assist in protecting a vulnerable community disproportionately impacted by sea level rise, compounded by the sinking or subsiding of Maryland’s coast.
